CEQA PROJECT OR SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER
Dyett & Bhatia is looking for a CEQA Project Manager to work on exciting assignments throughout California. We are a collegial, dynamic team, with an award-winning portfolio, including a National Planning Achievement Award for Environmental Planning this year from the American Planning Association. Our office is located in the vibrant, historic Jackson Square District in downtown San Francisco, easily reached by transit.

Position and Responsibilities
The CEQA Project Manager will lead and prepare EIRs/Negative Declarations on general plans; specific, community, and station area plans; and regional transportation plans; and support development of background material and environmental policies, procedures and standards for long-range plans. Projects are located throughout California. The successful applicant will be responsible for project management and coordination with sub-consultants; research and report writing and editing; presentations; client interaction; staying abreast of advancements in the field; and being a resource for comprehensive planners and others on CEQA and environmental planning issues.

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Position requires minimum five years’ experience (more experience desirable) preparing EIRs in California, expertise with Program EIRs, understanding of land use planning, and creativity, initiative, and enterprise. Experience in coastal planning is a plus. Excellent writing skills are essential. Background in natural resources and a master’s degree (in planning or natural resources) are desirable. Appointment will be at Associate, Senior Associate, or Associate Principal level, depending on skills and experience.

PLANNER/URBAN DESIGNER
Dyett & Bhatia is looking for an Planner/Urban Designer to work on challenging and rewarding assignments in the western United States, with a focus on California.

Position and Responsibilities
This position will focus on physical planning and urban design aspects of a range of planning assignments, including community plans, specific plan, zoning and development regulations, and design guidelines. Additionally, the Planner/Urban Designer will contribute to physical planning aspects of general plans. Work will combine design and planning, and involve writing reports and plans; creating computer models, drawings and maps; and facilitating community workshops
.
Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Candidates should have:
• Degree in city planning with an urban design component, landscape architecture or architecture (either undergraduate or graduate)

• Minimum one-year experience. Additional education and experience in urban planning is desirable

• Excellent computer modeling abilities (3D Studio Max/Viz, AutoCAD, and SketchUp)

• Expertise with Adobe CS

• Strong writing and design/physical planning abilities

• Working knowledge of ArcGIS desirable

COMPREHENSIVE PLANNER
Dyett & Bhatia, Urban and Regional Planners is looking for a Planner to work on long range planning and policy assignments.

Position and Responsibilities
The Planner will work on various aspects of general, specific, and community plans, including research and analysis, preparing plans and environmental review documents, workshop facilitation, and project coordination. Ideal candidates will have solid grounding in California planning practice, and experience with working on general plans, housing elements, and environmental review, and interest in sustainability, public health, and livable communities.     

Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Candidates must have:
• Graduate degree in urban planning, and minimum one year planning experience

• Excellent writing, analysis, communication, and organizational skills

• Working knowledge of ArcGIS and Adobe CS

• Physical planning and urban design skills are desirable

Candidates must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents, or have U.S. work authorization.
