The Council’s charge was to:
San Pablo is among the first communities in the State to develop and adopt a Health Element for its General Plan, and all participants in the process enthusiastically embraced the opportunity to bring a health-related perspective to long-range planning. Many Planning Commissioners and City officials had close ties to the local medical center, community college, and various social assistance organizations, and made a strong case for addressing community health in the General Plan and identifying a concrete role for the City.
