Isabel Neighborhood BART Station Area Specific Plan and EIR
Planning efforts are underway for the BART extension to Livermore, where the station will be located in the median of I-580 near Isabel Avenue.Dyett & Bhatia is preparing for the City of Livermore a Specific Plan—known as the Isabel Neighborhood Plan—for 1,200 acres of land surrounding the station, much of which is currently vacant.
Through extensive community and decision-maker engagement, Dyett & Bhatia has forged consensus on a Preferred Plan that envisions a vibrant and dynamic new transit-oriented neighborhood, with a walkable street grid oriented around a Main Street and a synergistic mix of employment uses. The Plan envisions 4,500 new housing units and 9,000 new jobs, much of it focused within a half-mile radius of the BART station.
Dyett & Bhatia has also been working with BART on integrating the station with adjacent development, including new connections and planning for BART property north of the station. Preparation of the detailed Specific Plan document and the EIR is underway.
