Mesa Zoning Ordinance Update

Dyett & Bhatia helped the City of Mesa undertake a comprehensive review of its zoning ordinance to implement the General Plan. The goal of the update was to ensure that zoning is responsive to community concerns about neighborhood character; to create mechanisms to promote infill, mixed-use and transit-oriented development; to streamline project review processes; to ensure that zoning complies with state requirements, particularly Proposition 207,  the City Charter and current case law; and to make the zoning code clear, concise, understandable and easy to use. The new ordinance was adopted in 2010.
